How Does It Work
- Sponsor the walk. Each monk and nun will walk 400km for the entire journey. You can choose to sponsor as many km as you wish, at sponsorship of US$30 per km.
- Get your friends to sponsor you to participate in the walk. Whether you choose Option A (42 days), Option B (27 days) or Option C (16 days), we ask that you request your friends and family to sponsor the entire journey.
- Corporate or individual sponsorship is welcome.
Where will the funds go:
- Education - 25% of the proceeds will go to support The Druk White Lotus School in Ladakh and other educational projects in the Himalayas
- Medical - 25% will be dedicated for offering medical help such as recovery and reconstructive surgery to Himalayan children who suffer from severe burns by kerosene stoves
- Heritage - 20% will be going to the spiritual heritage fund that is involved in the construction of the Hemis Monastic Institution, which aims at training monastics so that they will be able to preserve the spiritual heritage that has lived for more than 800 years
- Environment - 20% will be dedicated for Tree Planting and “No Plastic” Campaign
- The balance 10% will be used to defray the cost of the walking pilgrimage incurred by the 600 monks and nuns, led by His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa and his spiritual heirs.
